The Lurdes Mutola’s staff is a good representation of the principle beneficiaries: young people and women. The staff is full of dynamic leaders with backgrounds in bilateral corporations, national and International NGOs, private sector and government agencies.
Executive:
Macame Bruhane Macame - Executive Director:
Macame is the Executive Director of the FLM, and began as a founding member of the FLM in 2001. He has experience founding organization; he is a founding member of the National Youth Organization in Mozambique – ARO Juvenil. In 1994 he took part in working groups related to youth development, environmental issues, institutional development and NGO’s Management in Mozambique. He is a founding member and Chief Executive Officer of the Southern African Youth Conference from 1998 to 2001, whose focus was on youth development and empowerment in Mozambique and the African continent.
Prior to those, Macame worked as a consultant with international organizations in Mozambique and in five Southern African Regional programs, namely the Austrian Institute for Development, Populations Services International, the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Sports and Youth, United Nations Development Program, and the National Election Commission 1992 - 1994.
In 1998 and 2000 Macame attended Eduardo Mondlane University for a degree in Law. He has studied Social Anthropology with UNISA – University of South Africa, a short-term course on Project Management in Mozambique, and Social Work Development and Rural Youth Project Development courses in Germany. In 2006 he attended an Executive Education Course on Finance at University of Cape Town – School of Business.
Victorino Adriano - Director of Administration and Finance
Victorino recently joined the Foundation in July 2008. In 2006, he graduated from the High Institute of Transport and Communications, with a diploma in Management and Finance. He was in the 1% of the graduating class. In 2002 he concluded a diploma in Transport management and graduated at the same institute. He was the first student ever to graduate from the Institute the both the Diploma of honor and best student of the year. From 2002 to 2007 he worked in Group Visabeira Mozambique, in the areas of Planning and Control, as well as Accounting, Internal Control and Finances. Currently, he is a professor of Administration of business, marketing, analysis and management of projects at the Institute of Transportation and communications.
Lucilla Buonaguro - Director of Programs
Lucilla joined the Foundation on March 2009. She came to Mozambique as a volunteer for Caritas Italiana in January 2005 working on the development of a refugee advocacy program in urban area. After that she decided to remain in Maputo as a project manager for Caritas Roma; during three years she worked on the improvement of a social analysis programme oriented to develop small community-driven projects, aimed at some rural and suburban communities in the Provinces.
From June 2008 to February 2009 she worked as an international projects consultant for an Italian Firm, Leonardo Business Consulting.
Lucilla graduated in Development Economics in March 2006 at Roma3 University, in Italy, with a final dissertation on the connections between Social Capital and Promotion of Human Development. She is co-founder and activist of the association Share Onlus, which operates to provide legal assistance to migrants and asylum seekers in Mozambique.
Since 1999, Lucilla carries out activities aimed to promote the empowerment of youth, before for local and foreign children in the slums of her hometown- Rome- and now in her adoption town- Maputo.
Gabriel Fossati-Bellani - Director for Institutional Development
Gabriel joined as a consultant conducting an Institutional Assessment in August 2005. Gabriel came to Mozambique as a Princeton In Africa Fellow in 2003 and where he spent two years working as the Project Coordinator for Right to Play, a Canadian sport for development organization. Subsequently, Gabriel worked as a consultant for the United Nations Resident Coordinator on a Policy Paper for the UN International year of Sports in 2005; worked with a South African NGO, Community Media for Development; and the Mozambican Community Radio Forum (FORCOM).
He graduated with a B.A. in Economics in 2003 from Princeton University in New Jersey. There he co-founded the Black Student Union, currently the largest membership student organization. He is currently an MBA candidate at the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town, in the modular program set to graduate in 2010.

Agélica Filomena J. Amaral - Technical Assistant (Zambezia Province)
Angélica has two children and speaks Portuguese and Lomwe. She woked as a volunteer activist with Geração Biz in the fight against HIV/AIDS, and started a volunteer for the Desporto da Vida program in 2008. Today she is employed as a Technical assistant, and she hope that this office work will let her fulfill her dream of being an accountant for a non-profit.
Mariana Manhique - Mais Escola Para Mim Officer (Maputo Province)
Mariana is a native of Maputo City, but lives and works with the Foundation fellows in Magude. She also leads the Association Makhalelo which supports children orphaned and vulnerable. She is the focal point of the G20 district, and works by vocation and like what she does, so she already participated in various formations in the area of child. She loves working with children from different places and backgrounds, because the inspires learning about human relations.
Iracema Matsinhe - Program Officer in Education
Iracema began working with the Foundation as a Volunteer for the YES program in 2008. She graduated in international relations and diplomacy from the Superior Institute of International Relations (ISRI) in Maputo. She began work for FLM in January 2009 on its education programs, both YES and More School For Me, where she is the Program Manager. She is also a volunteer at Red Cross in Mozambique and participated in movements for women’s associations in operation in Maputo and Matola acting in orphanages.
Eusebio Alavro Munepa - Technical Assistant (Zambezia Province)
Eusébio works for the Foundation since 2008. He is a Technical Assistant in Gurué. Before working for the Foundation, he worked on research around elections where he worked in data entry. He studied primary school in Mocuba, secondary school in Gurué, and studied IT at a center in Gurué. He was the head coach of the Red Cobras football team at the catholic mission in Nauela in Alto Molocue District. He also had previous experience working with “APERES” Association for the Education in Girls in Schools in Gurué, and has been an active member of Geração Biz since 2002.
Murilo Oliveira - Desporto Da Vida Program Manager (Zambezia Province)
Murilo has a degree in Physical Education from University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil. Having worked in the area of the use of sports not only as a physical education but as a tool for social development and well being, Murilo is highly experienced in the application of participatory methods for the engagement of the different groups within a community (children, parents, teachers, leaders) in the process of education, decision making and implementation of project activities. He started his path on social development and formal and non formal education during university, when he worked in some small social projects in poor communities of São Paulo and youth camps. Murilo came to Mozambique as a Project Coordinator/Training Officer for Right To Play in the beginning of 2007, after a year he joined Save the Children UK during the emergency of the floods in Zambeze valley in 2008. Having lived and worked in Maputo, Gaza and Zambézia Provinces Murilo is very familiar with the Mozambican urban and rural context.
Ana Paula Ribeiro - Technical Assistant (Zambezia Province)
Ana Paula speaks Portuguese and Lomwe and has two children. She previously worked for OxFam and OJM in Gurué, and also worked on the local football commission from 2003 to 2006. In 2007 she participated in the first Craque! Training in Gurué where she worked as a volunteer for one year. Last year she participated as the female coach from Zambezia in the KNVB coach training in Nampula. Now she works as a Technical Assistant at the Gurué office of Sport Gives Life. Her dream is to become a Professional Coach.
Vasco Zaracias - Program Officer in Sports and IT
Working in FLM since 2001, as Administrative Assistant. Now as the Official for IT and work in the Center for Sports Information and Documentation (CEDID) Project. Zito spent roughly three months giving institutional support to the Mozambican Athletics Federation (FMA) in a partnership between the FLM and FMA. Before working for FLM, he worked on the inception of the development of a youth association called Aro Juvennil for 3 years.

Antonio Alberto - Administrative Assistant
Alberto Antonio is 45 years old, and lives maritally with his wife for more than 14 years, with whom he has 4 children. Antonio was born in Zambezia, Ile district. His parents are from Quelimane. He has worked since 16 years of age as household servant. Antonio has a field of 4 hectares where like to spend his weekend.
Avelina Langa - Executive Secretary
She began working on FLM in August of 2007, which performs the functions of the Executive Secretary. In 1998 she finished the average level in Josina Machel Secondary School, wher she was one of the best students of her class. In 1999 she started applied to examinations for admission to the Eduardo Mondlane University, and due to the competition, only joined in 2002. His dream was always going to law, but because she never managed to, decided to opt for the field of linguistics, given her inclination for languages. She graduated on November 24, 2006.
Angela Henriqueta Nuvunga - Receptionist
In November 2004 she start working on FLM as a maid. In 2007 she finished the 11th grade, having been delayed by 2 subjects, English and philosophy. Currently, she is attending 12th grade at the Armando Emilio Guebuza secondary school. From November 2007 to the present, apart from domestic, she also works as a receptionist, and assists in some administrative work.
Felicidade Moiane - Communications Officer
Works at FLM since March 2004, initially as public relations and then as an Administration Assistant, she has worked in various areas of the FLM depending on the needs. She studied accounting at the Maputo Commercial School, and finished at Professional Institute for Water and Sanitation where she studied for 3 years in Accounting and Business Administration in 2001. She is currently finishing her degree from the Superior Polytecnic Institute in Communications.
Jaime Muchanga - Driver
Jaime has worked as driver since 2003, he began his career as professional driver in 1994. He have worked with the National Institute of Natural Disasters for two years. He also worked for Action Aid during two years in the HIV Project as a driver. During his free time, Jaime likes to travel to his homeland, Macia, in the province of Gaza.
Raitone Afonso Molocué - Driver (Zambezia Province)
Jaime has worked as driver since 2003, he began his career as professional driver in 1994. He have worked with the National Institute of Natural Disasters for two years. He also worked for Action Aid during two years in the HIV Project as a driver. During his free time, Jaime likes to travel to his homeland, Macia, in the province of Gaza.
